Civic Duties and Responsibilities
The active participation and sense of responsibility of every citizen are as essential as the work of the governing committee for the comprehensive development and progress of Asamannoor Grama Panchayat. Citizens have a basic duty to attend Ward Sabha meetings regularly, participate constructively in development matters, and pay Panchayat taxes, including property tax, on time. Residents also play an important role in keeping their homes and surroundings clean and free of plastic, avoiding the dumping of waste in public places, and protecting drinking-water sources and public property. In short, every citizen’s greatest responsibility is to cooperate fully with the Panchayat’s welfare and development programmes and help make Asamannoor a model village. As participants in the system of governance, citizens have rights, and it is necessary to ensure that these rights are delivered properly and in a timely manner. Actions that undermine these rights must be prevented, and responsible exercise of citizenship must be promoted. Citizens are also responsible for fulfilling certain duties and obligations towards society and the nation; these are collectively known as civic duties. It is the duty of every good citizen to observe them willingly.
